ASTM International Partners with Calm Water Consulting to Maintain and Enhance Electronic Publishing System.
Leading testing and materials standards organization maximizes investment in content management and automated print publishing by enhancing production tools.
CHALFONT , PA , January 23, 2004 -- ASTM International has retained Calm Water Consulting (CWC) to help maintain and enhance their content management and electronic publishing systems. ASTM is a leading non-profit standards organization, publishing testing and materials standards for products as diverse as railroad tracks and crayons. CWC will be assisting ASTM with reviewing their current publishing process and developing new procedures to allow ASTM to continue to improve their process and also offer more specialized publications to their members throughout the world.
CWC has prior experience in the development and refinement of ASTM International's content management and electronic publishing systems, and the two organizations have established a good working relationship over the years. "Calm Water Consulting's extensive content management and publishing experience and intimate knowledge of ASTM's data, business rules and objectives allows them to quickly provide elegant solutions to our problems or requirements," says Norma Hair, Project Leader for ASTM. "This dynamic is evidenced in ASTM's complex Electronic Publishing Systems and the extensive functionality they provide."
ASTM International's primary relationship with Calm Water Consulting is to assist with new project design and development. Depending on ASTM's requirements, CWC will act as Project Manager, Analyst, Designer, Programmer, Subject Matter Expert, and End-User Liaison. "When necessary, Calm Water Consulting acts as an integral part of our routine operations," adds Hair. "If ASTM's workload gets heavy and resources are low, we can rely on Calm Water Consulting as an additional resource to carry us through pressure periods. ASTM International appreciates Calm Water Consulting as one of their most important technology partners."
